How To Register a DotRadio Domaine Name

You can register a .radio domain on register.radio or on another registrar web site (the list is available on nic.radio/registrars). As the registry, we are the cheapest but we don’t offer the complete range of hosting services. Ideally, you should have a running web site and point your domain to it.

However, we propose for free, the hosting of a dotRadio profile page, very easy to use, using more than 100 fancy themes. This will allows you to use your .radio domain with just a few clicks!

Checking Availability

To check the availability of a .radio domain, the simplest is to go on register.radio and use the search option.
If your domain name is already used by someone else, you will see a message that the domain name isn’t available. If the domain is available, you will be able to select it.

Pricing

Concerning the price, we have two categories:

Lower price (OPEN RADIO discounted)

This is for Radio Professionals and Radio Amateurs but the domain should include part of your firstname and your lastname in full, like peterpan.radio, or be your callsign (for Radio Amateurs).

We may accept non-profit radio stations (community radio stations/small web radios) in this category on a case-by-case basis.

Standard price (OPEN RADIO)

This format is free and is intended for corporate use, broadcast radio stations, internet radios, radio shows, radio-related companies, radio products.

Remember, .radio is reserved exclusively for the Radio Community and is safe from cybersquatting and speculators.

Bonus

Registering with us gave you a little bonus. As a .radio registrant, you will have access for free to on.radio which will allow you to redirect to your website, customers/listeners through urls like:

  • on.radio/myshow
  • live.on.radio/DJpeter
  • today.on.radio/myshow
  • tonight.on.radio/peter

You can use also on.radio as a standard URL shortener to make long or complex URLs into short URLs which can be used on Social Media.

This is the first of the free extra services that we are putting in place for the .radio Community.
